My first avatar was defined by my education and the engineering career that followed.  In the early years, I wrote to computers. It was easy.  The process was charted out, design vetted, syntax and semantics perfect to the dot, the output predictable and easily understood. I told my documentation team to be concise, use gender-neutral sentences in present tense, active voice and eliminate any personal opinions. 

In a sharp about turn, I have embarked on writing again.    But this time with a Voice, Texture, Rhythm, Imagery and Passion.  I began noticing the amazing people I have met, who have left me feeling buoyant and whose praises should be sung.  I know this time the writing will not be as easy, but I will silence my inner critic and make a beginning.
