The Apple Watch flopped and Adam is back. But wait. There is more.
Dear Siri,
Often these past 16 years, I walked hand in hand with my son. I taught him to look people in the eye, to ask questions, to listen, to trust, to be trusted and to unabashedly seek advice when needed. I have taught him the importance of being well informed and the dangers of being ill informed. I have talked about respect for women and the importance of confidentiality. I had a fine young lad in the making.
Along you come and switch places with me. For a start, he lost his cursive and now needs 2 hands to write with! You now have his undivided attention, trust and following. He looks you in the eye (most of the time), listens to you (always), asks questions (only to you), and seeks your (Your!) advice. He thinks he is very well informed and rarely ill informed. I am afraid he thinks “running for the highest office in the world” is a comedy. With your virtual boundaries, he is on Cloud 9.
Siri, I know it is only wise to let you stay. But for now, I want to be the one to teach him to tell the good, from the bad and the ugly. Can you please scoot over and wait till I make a fine young man of my lad? For he is the Apple of My Eye!
